Design, tokens, components, code and products work best as one connected system, not five separate artefacts. I come at it from both sides, the design system and the engineering system, and increasingly as the structured context AI tools need to build coherently.
Design→Tokens→Components→Code→Products+AI agents
- System & architecture
- Strategy, audits and modernisation for multi-brand and multi-product systems, component libraries and fragmented legacy UI.
- Tokens as architecture
- Token structures that carry decisions across brands, products, platforms, themes and states: primitive, semantic and component layers where they fit, plus naming, governance, Figma variables and the DTCG format. The right architecture depends on your operating model, not a template.
- Delivery & adoption
- Design-to-code workflows, accessibility, documentation, governance and contribution models that teams actually use.
- AI-ready systems
- Machine-readable tokens, component metadata and design context that coding agents can consume, for example through MCP, so they reuse your components instead of inventing new interfaces.
Design systems are becoming more important in an AI-native workflow, not less.
When AI can generate interfaces and code in seconds, producing UI is no longer the hard part. Producing the right UI consistently is. A structured system gives people and AI the same components, constraints and vocabulary. AI amplifies the system. It does not replace the thinking behind it.
Where this comes from. At adidas and Reebok I developed a multi-brand design system adopted across adidas, Reebok, Ivy Park and collaboration labels, covering components, tokens, accessibility and governance. At PVH I introduced a design system in the innovation environment that later scaled across brands including Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and Havaianas.
Engagements range from a three-day audit and roadmap to foundation sprints, system builds and multi-team migrations. A complete enterprise design system is not a two-week job.
