Accessibility
This site is built to follow WCAG 2.2 level AA, with one known exception, described below. It has not been audited by an independent party, so I do not claim formal conformance.
What is in place
- Semantic structure: one main heading per page, headings in order, landmarks, real links and buttons, and labelled form fields.
- Full keyboard use, a visible focus indicator in light and dark themes, and a skip link to the main content.
- Colour contrast checked separately for the light and dark themes. Information is never carried by colour alone.
- The theme follows your device. You can switch between Light and Dark at the bottom of any page. The choice is stored only in your browser.
- If your device asks for reduced motion, the animated words become a still line and the hero mark stops moving.
- The layout reflows down to a 320 pixel wide screen and works at 200% zoom.
- Form errors are written in plain words, next to the field.
Known exception
- Motion. The animated words and the hero mark are part of the visual identity of this site. They move slowly and carry no information that is not also in the text. I have chosen not to add a pause control, so they do not meet WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.2.2 (Pause, Stop, Hide). They stop if your device is set to reduce motion.
Other limitations
- The text on the orange buttons meets the AA contrast requirement, not the stricter AAA level.
- The site has not yet been tested with screen readers such as VoiceOver and NVDA.
